Reflection

Over the last two days I have been preparing my assignment photos. My printer decided it would not print magenta, despite reinstalling the print drivers and changing the cartridge.

I searched the internet and found a shop who could print to my specifications. The man was very helpful and within an hour I had a set of prints. All I had to do was select the crop I wanted. On careful oservation, I noticed that one of my dandelion photos had a slight red colour tinge in the clouds. It didn't look like it was on my computer. This was the only colour issue I had - from not enough to too much! I thought some of my prints looked better printed than on the screen.

When mounting, I laid everything out on the table carefully, and cleaned up as I went along. Despite this, I have managed to mark two of the photos.

I am pleased I decided on a matt print with a white border around them. I have mounted them on white card which I wasn't sure about at first, but I think it suits the pictures. Next time I will print labels for the back of each photo. I had written my blog in a different order to my contents of photos and will change it for next time.

Learning points:
Next time try cropping in photoshop to 8"x6" if this is the print size I am going to use.
Print at home if possible - then I can redo a print if necessary.
Matt paper gives a less reflective surface than gloss and I like the finish.
The white border enhances the photo.
Labels for the back of each photo could save me time and would look more professional.

I am pleased with my finished package.

Now I can look forward to receiving feedback.
