I have used 6 of my photo's taken on previous exercises and looked at the balance of them.
There are 3 types of balance I am looking for: unequal objects placed in the photo so that balance is achieved, maximum symmetry and symmetry.
Unequal Objects

Cecil Beaton "Quintin Hogg Q.C", used unequal objects to achieve balance.
Maximum Symmetry
In Robert Adam's photo "Farmyard", Thurman, Colorado, 1969, maximum symmetry has been achieved.
Symmetry
In some pictures it is easier to see the balance than others. I had to think of some photos as shapes rather than what the picture was so it made me look creatively. I have some which are chaotic, but that shows the scene as it was.
I did not find any symmetry in Fredrick Evan's "On Sussex Downs".
